Vacancy: STA Pedestrian Advisory Committee

The Solano Transportation Authority (“STA”) Pedestrian Advisory Committee ("PAC") is currently looking for a member to represent Rio Vista.

PAC advises the STA on the development of pedestrian facilities as an active mode of transportation in Solano County, and is responsible for making funding recommendations for Solano Countywide pedestrian projects and participates in the development and review of comprehensive pedestrian plans.

The committee includes twelve (12) members, with representation from the following: 

Each of the seven (7) cities (Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville, and Vallejo); County of Solano; three (3) Members-at-Large.

Representatives for the cities and the county are required to be residents of those jurisdictions. Member-at-large positions are required to be residents of Solano County. 

Appointments are for a three-year term and are voluntary.

The PAC generally meets on the first Thursday of each even month.

Desired Member Attributes:

• Can effectively act as a liaison between the residents of the jurisdiction they represent and the STA Board and/or staff concerning pedestrian issues.

• A strong interest in improving the active transportation network in Solano County to enhance the walking conditions for people of all ages and abilities.
