Thanks to All Rio Vistans who voted for me to be one of your new City Council Members. I promise to do the best of my ability to do what is best of ALL Rio Vistans, not just the folks who voted or me.
Let me help you by contacting me with any issues you might have through – this website, email or phone. I will consider all comments and requests received from whomever, with the serious consideration that they deserve.
Thanks again for the opportunity to be of service to you.
Occupation: LAN/WAN Administrator
Education and Qualifications:
Born in Philadelphia, I graduated with a A.A. in Computer Electronics (Merritt College, Oakland CA). I have worked in the computer field since and I am a 20-year employee of Bank of America.
I moved to Rio Vista with my husband Brent in 2006. For the past ten years, I have co-founded two non-profits, including Rio Vista Youth Services that currently runs Rio Vista Youth Center and the free summer programs. I am a Soroptimist of Rio Vista member and past president. I am a current board member of Rio Vista Little League, Rio Vista Youth Services and Rio Vista Community Center. I am also currently a Rio Vista Planning Commissioner and I was the Bass Festival chairperson for two years.
I enjoy working with the youth in the surrounding area. I think working with and listening to them is important because they are our future. I also enjoy volunteering with different groups and feel that everyone should give back to the community where they live. I believe we should all live within our means and that includes the City and all governments. I believe in doing what is best for the City of Rio Vista and the people who live here.
When asked about running for City Council, it didn’t take long for me to figure out that I could be of service. I am a great listener to all sides of an issue, excellent researcher and have superb organizational skills. My main concern has always been, that the City Council do what is in the best interest of the majority of its citizens and not what is best for any special interest group.
Economic Development is also a concern of mine – promoting new business opportunities in the City, Business Park and Industrial Park, thus creating new jobs. A major goal of mine is to make Rio Vista a destination place for all to visit, shop, play and stay.
I look forward to the day that we have adequate medical services in Rio Vista and I intend to work toward that goal.
I love Rio Vista and all the quaint shops, quiet streets and surroundings and want to keep that ambiance.
In Conclusion, I am certain that I can be a positive influence to and for the citizens of the City of Rio Vista.
