Airport Hanger and Tie-Down Rental
If you are looking for hangar or tie-down space for your aircraft, talk to us!
The Rio Vista Municipal Airport has 46 hangars and approximately 75 tie-downs available for rent. All hangars have electrical outlets and interior lighting. Some have office space. The 46 hangars on Rows A, B, and C have the following specifications:
- Door height: 12 feet
- Door width: 42 feet
- Depth: 32 feet
Tie-down spaces are also available. You will appreciate the fact that your aircraft is protected by a perimeter security gate system that requires a code for entry. A clean, well-lit ramp is also a reason you will be glad that you have chosen Rio Vista Municipal Airport.

Once the City of Rio Vista contacts you for a vacant hangar or tie-down space, you have 14 calendar days to respond by email or telephone for the space or the City will proceed to the next person on the list. The following documents are required before the City will execute a license agreement with the proposed licensee:
- Registration of the aircraft, a copy of which shall go in our files
- Airworthiness certificate
- Certificate of insurance and endorsement in accordance with the insurance requirements. The endorsement must specify that coverage provided to the City shall be primary, rather than coverage in excess of insurance maintained by the City.
Insurance requirement is as follows: Liability insurance on the aircraft with a combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage of not less than $1 million per occurrence, with the City of Rio Vista named as an additional insured.
4. A check in the amount of your first month’s rental fee.

If all hangars and tie-downs are leased, you will be placed on a waiting list. To be placed on the waiting list, submit a Wait List Application along with the required deposit (equal to one month's rent for the hangar).
