General Plan - Rio Vista 2045

The General Plan Working Group (GPWG) completed its review of the Administrative Draft of the 2045 General Plan in April and the General Plan team is now preparing the Public Review Draft of the General Plan. The Public Review Draft will be a complete and formatted first draft to be shared with the public and affected public agencies, and is anticipated to be released for review in mid-May.

Public workshops will be held in the afternoon and evening of June 6 to present the Draft General Plan to community members and to receive their input on the document. Following the June 6 meeting and once public agency comments are received, the Final Draft General Plan will be prepared for Planning Commission and City Council hearings.

The Environmental Impact Report (EIR) that will consider the environmental affects of the new General Plan, is being prepared and will be available for public review in approximately three months. Once the EIR is complete it will be circulated for a 45-day public review/comment period. Following public review a Final EIR will be prepared. The Final EIR must be completed before the Planning Commission and City Council can conduct formal hearings for adoption of the General Plan.
